Imoagene received a Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard\nUniversity, a M.Phil. in Modern Society and Global Transformations from\nCambridge University, and a BS in Sociology from the University of Ibadan,\nNairobi. She is Associate Professor of Social Research and Public\nPolicy, New York University, Abu Dhabi. Her book, Beyond Expectations:\nSecond Generation Nigerians in the United States and Britain,<\/em> was published\nby the University of California Press in 2017. \n\n\n\nImoagene is working on a monograph which studies\nthe experiences and outcomes of Nigerian and Ghanaian immigrants who migrated\nto the US via the Diversity Visa Lottery Program. Drawing from interviews and\nethnographic research, she is exploring how the diversity visa program and\nother immigration policies affect not just migrants, but their families and\ncommunities in their countries of origin.
