Please join us at 11:00 next Wednesday, May 12, for a Zoom presentation by guest speaker Irene Bloemraad entitled “Immigrant Contentious Action:Collective Action Issue Areas and the Modern Pre-History of the Pro-Immigrant Social Movement, 1960-1995.”

Bloemraad is the Class of 1951 Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, where she has been since 2003. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard University. She serves as Berkeley’s Thomas Garden Barnes Chair of Canadian Studies and is the founding Director of the Berkeley Interdisciplinary Migration Initiative.
