Guest Speaker Seminar, May 26: Jessica Blatt

Dear RSF:

Please join us Wednesday, May 26th at 11:00 for Guest Speaker Jessica Blatt’s presentation, “Race and the Making of American Political Science.”

Blatt is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Marymount Manhattan College, where she has been since 2010. She previously taught American politics at Sarah Lawrence College. Blatt’s research focuses on American political thought and particularly how ideas about difference, including those of race, gender and class, interact with political discourse and public policy.  She is the author of Race and the Making of American Political Science (University of Pennsylvania, 2018), which traces the academic history of political science in America through the lens of the influence of racial ideas, racial oppression, and political knowledge.
