Dear Staff, Scholars, and Researchers,
Please join me in warmly welcoming Eyal Press to the foundation as a Visiting Journalist for Spring 2016. He will be arriving this Tuesday, March 1st.
From our website:
Eyal Press is a journalist based in New York. A past recipient of the James Aronson Award for Social Justice Journalism, his work has appeared in the New Yorker, the New York Times, the New York Review of Books and numerous other publications. He is the author ofAbsolute Convictions (Henry Holt, 2006), a narrative account of the abortion conflict that racked the city of Buffalo, NY, where he grew up, and Beautiful Souls (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2012), an inquiry into the nature of moral courage.
During his time at the Foundation, Press will work on a book which explores “society’s most thankless, morally compromising jobs,” including immigrants working in meatpacking plants, maximum-security prison guards, and military drone operators.
Eyal will be working out of room 307 on the third floor.
