I’d like to bring your attention to a number of events outside of RSF that might catch your interest:
On Monday, September 18th at 6, RSF authors Ajay Chaudry, Taryn Morrissey, Christina Weiland, and Hirokazu Yoshikawa will launch their book, Cradle to Kindergarten, at NYU’s Institute for Public Knowledge. Chaudry and Yoshikawa will be in discussion with journalist Heather Long and public policy scholar Jane Waldfogel. The event is free; you can RSVP here.
On September 26th from 6.00-8.30, NYU Wagner will host another program and a reception celebrating the launch of the book. Yoshikawa and Chaudry will take part in a panel discussion with Richard Buery, Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Initiatives, City of New York; C. Cybele Raver, Senior Vice Provost, Academic Analytics and Graduate Affairs, NYU; and Eliza Shapiro, Reporter, Politico NY will serve as moderator. The event is free; you can RSVP here.
On Tuesday, September 19th from 6-8, the New School is hosting a lecture by Nobel Laureate Angus Deaton and fellow Princeton economist Anne Case entitled, “Depths of Despair: Increasing Mortality Among White, Middle-Aged Less-Educated Americans.” The talk is free, and you can RSVP via this link.
