Starting on Monday, March 16th, the RSF building will be closed and staff will be working remotely. Here are items to keep in mind:
- The building can still be accessed from 6 a.m. through midnight as long as you have an alarm access code and key fob. Remember to sign in and out of log book at the reception desk. If you have questions about access or need a refresher review on enabling and disabling the building alarm system please let Ivan or facilities staff know.
- One of the maintenance staff will come in to check on the building once a week. The main building and townhouse elevators will be shut down as a safety measure.
- Housekeeping service for the building and apartments will be suspended. If you decide to come into the office please don’t leave food in your office. If you bring any meals in, take any leftovers or garbage out with you when you leave.
- Today is the last day that lunch will be prepared by Jackie. Tomorrow we will have sandwiches for lunch. The kitchen will be closed after tomorrow.
- We still want to be advised immediately if anyone is diagnosed with COVID19 or is in contact with someone diagnosed so we can follow proper protocol and pass on this information to the RSF community.
With regard to Information Services:
- After tomorrow we will not be sending out scholar postal mail or packages.
- In terms of library service, we will not be able to obtain books from Hunter, NYU or via interlibrary loan. Sending books from Amazon to you at your home/local address may be possible, depending on Amazon delivery. We will monitor the Amazon delivery situation.
- Miriam has decided not to do a remote seminar and the outing has been postponed, so there are no scheduled events next week.
- I’ve been in touch with Yen Le Espiritu and we’ve cancelled her scheduled guest seminar for next month.
- Katie, Galo and I will be available via email as we will be working remotely. We’ll continue to help with research questions, and we’re certainly available to answer logistical questions as the situation develops.
