Conference at Roosevelt House – “Youth, Jobs and the Future: Responses to Youth Unemployment”

Hello everyone,

On October 22-23, nearby Roosevelt House (65th Street between Madison and Park Avenues) will host a conference entitled, “Youth, Jobs and the Future: Responses to Youth Unemployment” that many of you may find of interest. From their website:

“The conference confronts recent findings that employment prospects for teens and young adults have grown precipitously worse between 2000 and 2011. While this social problem is well documented and addressed across Europe, it has been relatively overlooked by academics and policymakers in the United States, where surprisingly little has been written about American youth who feel ‘disconnected’ from work and education.”

The keynote will be delivered by current Visiting Researcher Robert Kuttner, and many scholars previously associated with RSF, such as Richard Alba (Visiting Scholar 2014-15) and Michael Hout (Visiting Scholar 1996-97) will be featured speakers.

More information, including a conference schedule, can be found here. Space is limited, and an RSVP is required. Alternatively, you can also watch the conference via livestream.
