Solow is Institute Professor, Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has been the Robert K. Merton Scholar at RSF since 2000.

Of his many accomplishments, he was awarded the John Bates Clark Medal in 1961, the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1987, and the 2014 Presidential Medal of Freedom.
